Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) has appointed industry veteran Mohamed Youssif as its chief operating officer as well as president and managing director for the Middle East.
Youssif previously served as the chief executive officer of YahLive, the DTH partnership between UAE state-owned satellite operator and SES. Prior to that, he was the chief commercial officer responsible for sales at Arabsat.
Youssif has also held executive positions at ICO Global Communications, Hughes and was the founder of MESAT Consultancy in Beirut.
As ABS’s COO, Youssif will be responsible for global sales and revenue for the company as well as directly managing business development for the Middle East region.
Youssif is likely to be first of a number of key appointments at ABS with Tom Choi, chief executive officer, stating: “Mohamed will be one of multiple executive committee members joining ABS this year.”
