Telenor’s Thai subsidiary Dtac has appointed its vice chairman Sigve Brekke as interim CEO after Jon Eddy Abdullah resigned from the post.
Brekke will continue in his role as executive vice president and head of Telenor Group’s Asia operations alongside his temporary responsibilities.
He already led the Thai operator between 2005 and 2008.
Boonchai Bencharongkul, chairman of Dtac, has started the process of appointing a new CEO.
Dtac, in which Telenor has a 42.6% stake and management control, is the number two operator in Thailand and has around one third market share.
