Telefonica chairman Cesar Alierta has stated that the telco is planning to invest at least US$1.5bn between 2010 and 2013 in extending its services in Peru, according to local reports.
Spanish operator Telefonica’s Peruvian unit is majority controlled by Telefonica, although a small portion of the company shares are floated on the Lima Stock Exchange. The telco is reportedly set to invest the funds in order to extend new services through new networks and platforms.
