Lithuanian cable operator Cgates will take over regional rival Mikrovisatos for an undisclosed sum, Broadbandtvnews reports.
Mikrovisatos is reportedly the largest telecoms service provider in the country’s second largest city, Kaunas.
Cgates reportedly provides cable and digital multifunctional TV, fibre-optic internet and IP services in seven cities, including the capital city of Vilnius. It is owned by Advanced Broadband Ltd and SEB Venture Capital UAB.
According to the reports, Cgates will have 180,000 subscribers and E50m of total revenues following the closing of the transaction, which requires the Competition Council approval.
Cgates did not reply to request for comments before press time.
