The Paraguay-based cable TV operator Cablevision could be sold, with America Movil’s Claro and Telecom Argentina as potential suitors, according to media reports.
Paraguayan newspaper La Nacion reported that the asking price for Cablevision, which is owned by Argentine media group Grupo Clarin, would be US$180m.
The newspaper reported that the America Movil bid would be US$160m, while the Telecom Argentina bid was not known.
Cablevision reportedly provides cable TV and internet services through the Fibertel brand.
America Movil’s Claro currently provides mobile, internet and TV services.
Telecom Argentina controls the local mobile operator Telecom Personal.
