The CEO of US satellite/terrestrial venture LightSquared has said that the company is in discussions with over 60 companies to use its LTE network, according to media reports.
The Financial Times reported that CEO Sanjiv Ahuja said that 15 of these that have gotten to the stage of negotiating contracts with LightSquared.
Ahuja reportedly said that LightSquared was targeting wholesale deals with mobile and fixed-line telcos, as well as retailers and cable operators.
Telco Sprint Nextel and media giant Time Warner Cable are reportedly two of the companies having talks with LightSquared.
The reports follow a series of confirmed partnerships recently announced by LightSquared.
Last Tuesday, it confirmed a roaming agreement with US wireless carrier Leap Wireless, and the following day an MVNO agreement with the US electronics retailer Best Buy.
It also recently announced a network partnership deal with US rural telecoms provider Open Range.
