Zain’s board of directors has accepted the resignation of chief executive Dr Saad Al Barrak and the company has already lined up a successor, according to reports.
Al Barrak resigned from the company yesterday, fuelling rumours that Zain may look to reignite the sale of its African assets as it looks to balance books and reign in its operations after years of aggresive expansion.
According to Kuwaiti newspaper Al Qabas, Zain has selected former minister of communications Nabil bin Salama to succeed Al Barrak, although there has been no confirmation that this is the case.
