Kuwait-based operator Zain is planning to launch a 3G network in Jordan in February 2011, according to media reports.
According to ITP website, Zain’s CEO, Dr Abdul Malek Al-Jaber, told CommsMea that Zain Jordan would have deployed the necessary infrastructure by the end of 2010, and would be launching mobile broadband nationwide by February next year.
Zain’s shareholders have agreed to sell a 51% stake of the company to the UAE incumbent Etisalat, although this deal is being delayed by legal proceedings brought by one Zain investor.
