Yuen Kee Tong has announced plans to retire as CEO of Hong Kong-based backhaul operator Citic Telecom from 1 January 2015.
He will be replaced by Lin Zhen Hui, who was formerly managing director of China Mobile’s Guangdong subsidiary and general manager of its Yunnan unit.
“Mr Yuen has confirmed that there is no disagreement with the board and there is no matter relating to his retirement that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company,” said Citic chairman Xin Yue Jiang in a stock exchange filing.
“The board express that Mr Yuen has devoted himself to the development of the company and made significant contributions during the past years.”
Yuen will remain as a senior consultant for the company.
