Russian WiMAX operator Yota has postponed the launch of its LTE network to the end of the year, Telecompaper reports.
The company had reportedly already put off the start of its operations to May-June this year from an initial launch date in December 2010, but the new deadline is now November or December.
In March, Yota announced it signed and agreement whereby national fixed-line operator Rostelecom and mobile operators MTS, VimpelCom and MegaFon would use Yota’s network to offer 4G services.
Under the agreement the operators also have the option to buy Yota shares in 2014.
In March, Yota said it planned to roll out its LTE network to cover 70 million people in 180 cities by 2014.
The company did not reply to request for comments before press time.
