One of the co-founders of US WiMAX wholesaler Clearwire, Benjamin Wolff, has resigned from his position on the company’s board of directors.
Wolff had held several positions at Clearwire, including president and co-chairman.
In an SEC filing on Friday, Clearwire said that Wolff’s resignation would be effective immediately.
“Mr. Wolff’s decision to resign is not due to any disagreements with the Company on any matters relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices,” Clearwire said.
Wolff was originally nominated to the position on the board by the investment group Eagle River Holdings, which holds a 4.2% voting interest in Clearwire. Eagle River has informed Clearwire that it expects to nominate a replacement.
Wolff is also currently chairman, CEO and president of Pendrell Corporation, formerly ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Ltd. This was once a mobile satellite service (MSS) operator, but is now focussed on the intellectual property asset management business.
