Wind Mobile, a subsidiary of VimpelCom-owned Globalive, has appointed Pietro Cordova as COO.
Cordova joins from VimpelCom’s Italian operator Wind Telecomunicazioni, where he held the position of deputy CFO.

Wind Mobile, a subsidiary of VimpelCom-owned Globalive, has appointed Pietro Cordova as COO.
Cordova joins from VimpelCom’s Italian operator Wind Telecomunicazioni, where he held the position of deputy CFO.
Cordova succeeds Gianluca Corti at Wind Mobile. He has left to join Wind Telecomunicazioni to head up its consumer unit.
Before joining Wind Telecomunicazioni in 2005, Cordova held a senior leadership role at Telecom Italia and lived in Toronto for seven years in the nineties while working for major financial institutions.
“Pietro brings a wealth of experience, accomplishments and enthusiasm to the role of Chief Operating Officer, and we couldn’t be happier that he is here to help fulfil our goal of becoming Canada’s fourth national wireless carrier,” said Tony Lacavera, Chairman and CEO of Wind Mobile.
Wind says its strategy to become Canada’s number four operator focuses on postpaid wireless customers, high network quality, and customer care.
