Satellite imaging provider GeoEye has appointed Dr William Ballhaus, currently a senior adviser and operating partner at US investment firm Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, to its board of directors.
Ballhaus’ appointment follows GeoEye’s financing agreement with Cerberus to support its bid on the US National Geospatial- Intelligence Agency’s (NGA) programme for increased commercial satellite-imaging capacity.
The NGA awarded GeoEye a US$3.8bn ten-year contract under the programme, called EnhancedView.
