Kabel Deutschland’s (KDG) CEO Adrian von Hammerstein has resigned and will leave the cableco at the end of March.
The 60-year-old executive has not explained why he has decided to leave the company.
Manuel Cubero, KDG’s COO and deputy CEO, will take the reins on 1 April 2014, while the head of technical operations, Gerhard Mack, will become COO.
KDG described 10-year company veteran Cubero as an “experienced executive” who has “contributed significantly to the development of the company and enjoys an excellent standing in our industry”.
Von Hammerstein led KDG through an IPO and its €7.7bn (US$10.43bn) sale to Vodafone Group earlier this year.
Commenting on his departure, von Hammerstein said: “Kabel Deutschland is very well positioned in the market. Following the takeover by Vodafone, the company is now set to enter into a new and exciting phase of its development. This is the right time for a successful management transition.”
