British telecom company Vodafone is topping the table of this year’s Brand Finance, which lists the 50 most valuable brands of British origin. The telecom saw its brand value climbing to £17.93bn, accounting for 16% of the total enterprise value,
up from £17.03bn last year. Overall, the combined brand value of all companies in the list is up to £199bn from £166bn last year, which shows the good state of health of most British businesses.
“Vodafone in particular has done very well this year. But it isn’t necessarily because of its performance in the UK but because of its performance globally,” said Brand Finance chief executive and founder David Haigh, referring to Vodafone’s strong business in emerging markets such as India and Africa, in an interview with MarketingWeek.
