UK telco Vodafone Group has scheduled an EGM in London on 28 January for its shareholders to vote on the planned US$130bn disposal of its 45% stake in Verizon Wireless.
Yesterday the buyer, Verizon Communications, said its investors would vote on the deal on the same date.
In a stock exchange announcement Vodafone said that providing both sets of shareholders approved the transaction then the deal would close on 21 February.
Last week the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the buy without conditions.
Verizon agreed the US$130bn deal – the third largest corporate transaction ever – at the start of September. It secured US$61bn in financing, which included a record US$49bn bond offering.
