British listed Vodafone plans to promote its current group head of M&A Colman Deegan to CFO of the Indian business, the Economic Times reports, referring to an executive source within the company.
Deegan will relocate to Mumbai, the paper writes, where he will take over from current CFO of Indian operations, Steve Walters.
Walters will in turn move on to become CFO of Vodafone’s Qatar operations.
Deegan will prepare and execute the listing of Vodafone India, the item said.
As a member of Vodafone’s M&A team since 2004, and its head since 2007, Colman Deegan orchestrated several landmark transactions, including the acquisition of 67% of Hutchisons Essar in India in 2007.
He also worked on the acquisition of a majority stake of Vodacom of South Africa and the takeover of Ghana Telecom, the report stated, referring to a company executive.
