Vodafone did not submit a bit for London-based MVNO Lebara, according to media reports.
The Observer newspaper reported that the sale had attracted around 20 expressions of interest from networks in Africa, Europe and India. These included T-Mobile and KPN.
In a statement, Lebara said that it is currently exploring future strategic opportunities for the company, in consultation with RBS.
“This process is ongoing and we are not in a position to comment on our progress at this time,” the company said.
A Vodafone spokesman declined to comment.
Previous reports have estimated that the sale could fetch £650m.
