Ross Parker will leave his position at Vodafone Australia as executive GM for prepay to join Telecom New Zealand in January 2014.
There, he will oversee Skinny, the incumbent’s mobile prepaid business.
Parker takes over from Paul Taylor, who has decided to pursue other opportunities, according to a statement on Telecom NZ’s website.
The company said that Parker, who has 13 years of experience in the telco industry, is “well placed” to continue growing the business, which has recently launched a new branding and market proposition.
Telecom NZ has been involved in a few deals of late. It recently agreed to sell Australian wholesale broadband unit AAPT to Sydney-based ISP TPG Telecom for A$450m (US$410m). It was also awarded 4G spectrum in an October auction.
