Mobile operator Vodafone Netherlands is set to acquire local telecoms retailer BelCompany from MacIntosh Retail for E120m in cash.
The deal, which is still subject to regulatory approval, will see Vodafone add 210 stores to its existing portfolio of 86 in the Netherlands, a spokesman for the company confirmed.
He said Vodafone’s store expansion is in response to increasing demands from customers for more support, prompted by an explosion in devices ranging from smartphones to tablets.
Vodafone, which did not hire an external financial advisor, expects to complete the acquisition within 3-6 months.
BelCompany was unable to respond before the press deadline.
