Sipho Maseko has stepped down from his role as managing director of the South African mobile subsidiary of Vodacom with immediate effect.
No reason was given for his departure with Vodacom Group chairman Peter Moyo only stating: “Sipho has made a positive contribution to Vodacom during his time with the group, providing valuable external perspective to our strategy discussions. On behalf of the entire group, I wish Sipho the best of luck for the future.”
Maseko has also resigned from his role as Vodacom Group COO, a position he had been promoted to only a couple of months ago.
He joined Vodacom in September last year from BP Africa.
