South African mobile operator Vodacom is looking for acquisitions but is having difficulties finding affordable targets, Reuters reports.
CEO Pieter Uys was quoted saying that the group would continue to look for opportunities to expand in the rest of the continent after having looked at and ruled out certain acquisitions.
Africa is appealing for mobile operators because in many areas of the continent mobile penetration is still below 50%.
In its preliminary results for the year ending on 31 March, Vodacom posted 1.1 million mobile customers in South Africa, representing 42.3% growth compared to the previous year.
