Vodacom, the South African operator majority-owned by British group Vodafone, is looking to make acquisitions.
Speaking in its Q3 investor call CEO Shameel Joosub suggested the operator may look towards acquisitive growth, Reuters reported.
Responding to a question about acquisitions Joosub said that to sustain growth Vodacom had to consider new opportunities.
Joosub took over as CEO at the beginning of September from Pieter Uys, with the two working together in a transitional phase until the end of the South African fiscal year in March.
According to Vodafone its South African subsidiary has 60% market share and EBITDA of £1.9bn (US$3.02bn).
