Vivendi has not been informed as to whether Vodafone would be ready to sell its 44% stake in French mobile operator SFR, Reuters reports quoting Thibaud Morin, senior vice-president, M&A, strategy and development, at Vivendi.
Morin reportedly said that as far as Vivendi knows, Vodafone has not decided to sell its stake.
Commentators are expecting a transaction to take place since Vivendi has made no secret of wanting to take full control of the French operator, and because Vodafone is looking to offload several minority investments in foreign companies in order to return money to its investors.
Vivendi was not immediately available for comment.
