Virgin Mobile’s central and eastern European holding company is set to make its market debut in Poland this summer as a branded MVNO.
Part of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group, Virgin Mobile Central and Eastern Europe (VMCEE) was founded in 2011 by a team of telecoms investors and executives from Virgin Mobile and fellow MVNO operator Lebara.
Virgin Mobile, which operates in eight countries, said in a statement it believes Poland has an “attractive and accessible” telecoms market which provides a strong platform for growth in the region.
“The MVNO market is set to grow rapidly in central and eastern Europe as the region’s mobile markets mature and regulatory systems evolve,” the company said.
Virgin Mobile’s current operations are in the UK, France, the USA, Canada, Chile, South Africa, India and Australia.
