Henk van Dalen, the CFO of Amsterdam-based multinational VimpelCom, will leave the telco in September when his contract expires.
Before he departs van Dalen will oversee the handover to a successor, who is yet to be announced. VimpelCom said it has started the hunt for a new CFO and that an announcement would be made in due course.
Explaining his departure, van Dalen said “for me it is a good moment now to move on to new worlds and connections”.
CEO Jo Lunder said van Dalen had been an important part of the operator’s history and strategic development. Lunder singled out van Dalen’s successful integration of Wind Telecom and the formation of a new group finance structure as two of his key achievements.
