Venezuelan state-owned mobile player Movilnet, a subsidiary of Cantv, has started building the first base station which it will share with rivals Digitel and Movistar, according to multiple reports citing a company statement.
The station, which is located in the Paraguana Peninsula (Falcon state), is part of a project promoted by the ministry of higher education, science and technology ministry to expand network coverage and reduce investment costs by sharing infrastructure assets.
The three operators will build 10 stations each, which are expected to benefit 30 companies and 63,000 local residents, the reports said.
