Crown Castle International, GTL Infrastructure and American Tower Corp have reportedly begun talks with Reliance Communications with a view to acquiring Reliance Infratel.
The three firms are all perennial bidders in auctions of towers assets and have been quick to make known there interest in Reliance’s subsidiary after it announced plans to spin-off the business.
According to The Economic Times of India, Crown Castle has teamed up with Blackstone as it prepares a bid for Reliance Infratel, which is to be demerged into a separate company.
Reliance Communications has said that a demerger or ‘other suitable value-creating options’ should be concluded shortly.
Reliance Infratel owns 54,000 towers.
