Swiss cableco UPC Cablecom has acquired four local networks for an undisclosed sum.
The company said it had reached an agreement with owners of three cable networks in the St. Gallen canton, and one network in the canton of Uri, to extend its geographical coverage.
In a statement announcing the deal, Stefan Knabl, head of mergers and acquisitions at UPC Cablecom, said the assets “are already future-focused, customer-centric operators whom we value highly due to our long-standing cooperation”.
On the possibility of future acquisitions, Knabl added: “One of the advantages of selling to UPC Cablecom is that only a full-service provider of telecommunication solutions like UPC Cablecom can offer its customers everything from under the one roof”.
UPC Cablecom, which is owned by US media giant Liberty Global, did not respond to requests for further comment.
