Tanveer Mohammad, the current CTO of Telenor’s Grameenphone in Bangladesh, is set to become COO of Uninor, the Norwegian company’s unit in India.
He will succeed Ruza Sabanovic, who has been appointed as head of group technology at the Telenor Group headquarters in Oslo. In her new position, she will be responsible for the network and IT transformation agenda across the Telenor companies in Europe and Asia.
Mohammad joins Uninor as its parent is currently seeking to buy out its Indian partner in the joint venture. Telenor owns 74% of the mobile operator and, since a change in local regulation, is now allowed to own up to 100%.
