China Unicom, the country’s second-largest mobile operator, launched yesterday the issue of the first tranche of super and short-term commercial paper for 2013, amounting to Yn15bn (US$2.44bn).
The issue is expected to be completed today (10 June) when the company will announce the final coupon rate, it said in a notice to the Hong Kong stock exchange.
No further details were disclosed.
Last year, Unicom issued Yn30bn (US$4.8bn) worth of super and short-term commercial paper in two tranches, and Yn38bn (US$6.2bn) in commercial paper split into three tranches.
