Two Telecom New Zealand backhaul links to be unregulated
New Zealand’s Commerce Commission has identified two Telecom New Zealand backhaul links that will no longer need to be regulated because they now face competition.
The regulatory agency also said it is assessing a further 25 other links because a number of the Auckland-based company’s exchanges have been unbundled.
However, early indications suggest there is no evidence that the company faces competition from other providers on the other links, reported Telegeography.
According to the Commission, a final report of its findings will be published by the end of August this year.
