Turkish incumbent Turk Telekom has denied making a decision about whether to acquire local pay-TV firm D-Smart.
Reacting to local press reports today, the company made a regulatory announcement declaring that, while it often evaluates different commercial possibilities, “there is no decision to acquire any company at the moment”.
The group did not specifically name D-Smart, which is owned by local conglomerate Dogan Holding, but a source close to the company clarified that the statement was in response to speculation about the two companies in local press.
Turk Telekom declined to elaborate on the regulatory announcement.
D-Smart was unable to comment before the press deadline.
