The British-based MVNO Truphone is planning to expand its business-focussed VoIP services into the Netherlands and Spain.
Truphone told TelecomFinance that it would begin offering services in the Netherlands next week. This will allow Australian, American and British business customers to get voice, text and data services at their local rates while visiting the Netherlands.
It will be operating as an MVNO on the network of Vodafone Netherlands. It has a similar agreement with Vodafone in the UK.
The news came after the Spanish El Economista newspaper reported that Truphone was planning to launch its services in the country this autumn, possibly in October.
A Truphone spokesman confirmed that the company would be in Spain “very soon” and that it would be using Orange’s network. Further details were not available.
Truphone CEO Geraldine Wilson said that the company plans to expand its business in further countries.
