Ukrtelecom’s mobile subsidiary Trimob has hired Andrey Demchenko as new CFO.
Demchenko joins from Interpipe, a steel company owned by Oligarch Viktor Pinchuk, where he held different financial roles in his six-year spell, local newspaper Capital reported.
Before that Demchenko worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He replaces Vladimir Prigoda who has taken on a different role in the company.
Earlier this month it was reported that Ukrtelecom had put TriMob back up for sale. MTS Ukraine, Turkcell and Kyivstar were all said to be interested.
The potential sale of Trimob to a local operator could also help consolidate the Ukrainian mobile market, currently home to six operators.
Trimob is Ukraine’s fifth largest mobile operator after VimpelCom’s Kyivstar, MTS Ukraine, Life and Intertelecom.
