Indonesian towerco PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure plans to issue US dollar-denominated notes, it announced at its extraordinary general meeting of shareholders today.
The new notes will be a US$500m issuance, according to a Reuters report citing the company after the meeting.
A statement from the Indonesian Stock Exchange-listed towerco said that the offering would be issued by a wholly-owned subsidiary and would only be available to investors outside of Indonesia, although the purpose of the bond was not revealed.
As TelecomFinance previously reported, Tower Bersama acquired 2,500 towers from local telecoms services provider Indosat for US$406m last August. The deal value consisted of a cash component and approximately 240 million of newly issued Bersama shares, representing 5% of the company’s enlarged share capital.
Tower Bersama owns and operates 8,439 telecommunication sites serving 13,708 tenants as of 31 December 2012. The company is majority owned by Saratoga Capital and Provident Capital.
