US operator Time Warner Cable (TWC) has named Dinni Jain as its new COO effective 13 January 2014.
Jain replaces Robert Marcus who is becoming CEO at the start of next year.
Marcus is taking over from Glenn Britt who will retire after thirteen years leading the US’ second largest cableco.
Jain was previously the president and COO of Insight Communications, which TWC bought last year. He joined Insight in 2002 as CFO and became COO in 2006. Prior to that, he was group managing director for strategy for NTL Europe, where he worked from 1994 to 2001. Jain also held positions at Cellular Communications, Barclays De Zoete Wedd, and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette.
There has been intense speculation about the future of TWC over recent months, emerging as an acquisition target for rival cablecos such as Charter Communications, Comcast and Cox Communications.
Its share price has risen more than 42% over the past year.
