US cableco Time Warner Cable has completed its US$3bn acquisition of cable operator Insight Communications.
Time Warner Cable said that it would add over 760,000 customers in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio through the deal. The company’s chairman and CEO, Glenn Britt, said: “With this acquisition, we have expanded in areas that fit well with our Midwest operations at an attractive price.”
Insight was sold by Carlyle Group, Crestview Partners, MidOcean Partners and members of Insight’s own management team, among others.
Time Warner Cable’s financial adviser for the deal was Citigroup, while its legal advisers were Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Edwards Wildman Palmer.
Insight’s financial advisers were BofA Merrill Lynch and UBS. Its legal adviser was Dow Lohnes PLLC.
