The CEO of TIM Brasil will resign next month after helming the wireless operator for only 10 months.
Andrea Mangoni, who was previously CFO at parent Telecom Italia, will step down on 4 March.
Mangoni told the board that he had accomplished his task of ensuring a smooth transition in the management, suggesting the appointment of a new fulltime CEO is imminent.
The company said its board would be looking to appoint a new CEO as soon as possible.
Mangoni took over last May after then CEO Luca Luciani resigned due to corruption charges in his native Italy. The scandal related to the alleged unlawful renewal of mobile phone SIM cards in Italy between 2006 and 2008, to manipulate market share data.
TIM Brasil announced its full year results today revealing a revenue increase of 10% to R$18.8bn (US$9.45bn) for 2012, with organic EBITDA at R$5.1bn (US$2.6bn).
