Incumbent Telecom Italia is keeping an eye on the potential sale of Italian fibre network owner Metroweb, CEO Franco Bernabe reportedly told journalists yesterday.
However, Bernabe claimed TI has yet to make any advances for the group, reported the Wall Street Journal.
Lazard has been appointed by Metroweb’s shareholders to support the exploration of a possible sale, Metroweb CFO Mirko Prato told TelecomFinance in an email.
Reports value Metroweb, which is 76,5% owned by Stirling Square Capital Partners and 23,5% owned by domestic utility A2A, at E400m-E500m.
TI did not respond to requests for comment before the press deadline.
