Thuraya’s CEO since 1998, Yousuf Al Sayed, who will remain as a board member, has returned to the Etisalat Group.
Prior to joining Thuraya, Halawi was chief strategy and business development officer at Intigral, a Dubai-based provider of digital media content services to regional telecommunication operators that is owned by Saudi Telecom Company (STC), All Asia Networks (ASTRO), and Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG). Halawi held this role since December 2009 before which he was vice president of strategic corporate development at Inmarsat. As well as Inmarsat, Halawi had a stint at ICO Global in 1999.
