The Slovenian telecoms regulator has received bids from the nation’s three largest mobile operators – incumbent Telekom Slovenije, Telekom Austria-owned Si.mobil and Tusmobil – to participate in the nation’s upcoming spectrum auction.
The Agency for Post and Electronic Communications (APEK) revealed the names of the bidders at an event at its headquarters today, a spokesperson confirmed.
The operators will bid for mobile frequencies at 1800MHz and 2100MHz, which can be used for 4G/LTE services.
APEK first published the invitation to tender in mid-March and the deadline for bid submissions was Monday (15 April).
The regulator is now set to evaluate the offers, with price being the main influencer.
The minimum payment for each paired 5MHz frequency sub-band in the 1800MHz range is €252,340. The minimum payment for a single paired 5MHz frequency sub-band in the 2400MHz range is €814,000.
APEK expects to announce the winners by 1 June.
