State-owned broadband operator Libya Telecom and Technology (LTT) launched its mobile operator LibyaPhone Mobile at the end of January.
In a release, LTT said the new operator would offer 2G and 3G services, and cover 100,000 subscribers.
This is the third mobile operator in the country as two state-owned operators, Libyana and Al Madar Telecomm, are already operating on the market. LTT said it launched Libyana in 2004.
Last year, the Libyan General Telecommunications Authority rejected offers from Etisalat and Turkcell for a combined fixed and mobile licence.
