Indonesian incumbent Telkom has hired banks to issue bonds worth up to Rp6trn (US$459m) in May, its finance director Heri Sunaryadi reportedly told local daily Kontan.
Bahana,Trimegah, Mandiri and Danareksa were listed as underwriters for the debt, part of a long-term plan to use issue Rp12trn in notes with a tenure of 30 years.
Telkom was unable to comment before the press deadline.
Its CEO Alex Sinaga was quoted recently saying it was considering a mix of bonds and loans to finance half of its Rp23trn capex in 2015.
About Rp10trn of that capex is earmarked for building 12,000 towers for its mobile subsidiary Telkomsel.
Sinaga also said in January that the group did not expect difficulties in raising external funding because its debt-to-equity ratio stood at 35%, compared with an average of 60% for the rest of Indonesia’s he Indonesian telecoms industry.
