Telkom, the South African fixed-line operator has appointed Jeffrey Hedberg, the head of its Nigerian business, as acting CEO. He replaced Reuben September as CEO who had stepped down on 7 July.
September will remain with Telkom in a consultancy role until the beginning of November. Hedberg is a US citizen and joined Telkom to turnaround the prospects of its failing Nigerian phone unit, Multi-Links, after he had done a similar turnaround job with Cell C, South Africa’s smallest mobile operator.
Stepping into the breach as acting CEO at Multi-Links is South African native, Vincent Raseroka.
Prior to joining Multi-Links Raseroka worked with Hedberg as Managing Director of Cell C.
