Audun Wickstrand Iversen has been voted in as the new chairman of Norwegian broadband VoIP provider Telio Holding, taking the reins from Erik Osmundsen.
The decision was taken at the company’s AGM, where shareholders also chose to rename the group NextGenTel Holding.
Iversen is CEO of solar power investor EAM Solar and sits on the board of web browser firm Opera Software. He has also worked as a telecom analyst and telecom portfolio manager for 12 years at DNB.
Telio bought the larger NextGenTel from TeliaSonera for NOK601m (US$108.3m) at the end of 2012, and changed its name since it thought NextGenTel had a stronger brand, according to minutes from the AGM.
The company is listed on the Oslo stock exchange, where it has a market capitalisation of NOK957m (US$123m).
It boasts Norway’s second-largest xDSL network and also operates a backbone network.
