Brazilian operator Telesp is planning a US$1.88bn investment in 2010, mainly in fixed telephony, broadband expansion projects and pay-TV services.
Telecomunicacoes de Sao Paolo, operating as Telesp, is backed by Telefonica and is looking at an investment of R$3.5bn (US$1.88bn) this year in expansions and upgrades.
The telco has just presented its 2009 results, which showed capex at R$2.22bn, a decrease of 5.2% from the previous year. Full year net profit came in at R$2.17bn, down 10.2% from 2008, and EBITDA was also down 10.4% from 2008, at R$5.87bn.
