Norwegian telco Telenor is mulling a lease of landline infrastructure from state owned operator Telekom Srbija, as this infrastructure is essential to be able to run a landline network in Serbia.
Currently, Telekom Srbija operates the sole landline in the country although Telenor received a second licence from the regulator late last week.
Telenor snapped up the 10-year renewable licence from regulator Ratel for E1.05m.
A Telenor spokesperson has since said that Telenor has placed a standard offer for the infrastructure lease, but that the Serbian telco is after more favourable terms, which Telenor deems unaccptable.
Telenor has now turned to Ratel for a solution.
