Mechelen-based cable operator Telenet is considering a bid for French rival Numericable’s Belgian assets to expand north of the country, reported Reuters.
The company is looking at this asset along with other assets in the cable sector, suggests the report citing a spokesman.
Private equity-backed Numericable told Reuters that it is reviewing the future of its subsidiaries in Belgium and Luxembourg.
A previous attempt by Telenet to acquire Numericable’s Brussels-based arm fell through in 2005, according to reports.
Numericable and Telenet were unable to comment before the press deadline.
