Telekom Slovenije is among a number of state controlled assets set to be privatised as Slovenia attempts to raise funds to avoid an international bail out.
The government today confirmed the privatisation plans and said it will not retain a blocking stake when it divests the operator.
The incumbent will be sold alongside 14 other state-owned companies following pressure from European Union partners.
The state has a direct 62.54% stake in Telekom Slovenije, which has a market value of about €600m.
Slovenia cancelled the privatisation process of a 49.13% in Telekom Slovenije in late 2010, rejecting bids from the last two candidates – Iceland’s Skipti and a consortium of Bain Capital, Axos Capital and BT – as too low.
Axos Capital recently acquired a 75% stake in Kosovo’s PTK for €277m, which was put up for sale by the government last year.
